1. Kayenta Campground at Dead Horse Point State Park

If you are planning an RV trip to Dead Horse Point State Park, you will definitely want to consider staying at Kayenta Campground, located right in the park. This state park in Utah is breathtaking, to say the least.

During the sunrise and sunset, the canyon walls come alive with spectacular light that some say looks like watercolor paintings. You will undoubtedly have lasting memories after staying at Kayenta Campground and witnessing the canyon’s beautiful light show and fascinating rock formations.

Things to Know

The water table is too low at Kayenta Campground, so you must fill up your RV water tank before heading to Kayenta. The nearest town is Moab, Utah. The campground does offer limited drinking water that they have to haul up from Moab.

Also, there is no WiFi available at the park; if you need to call, you can use the Visitors Center in the park, where there is spotty cell service. Check-in is at 3 pm, and check-out is at noon. Kayenta Campground is open from March to December.

2. Canyons of Escalante RV Park

Canyons of Escalante RV Park is located just off Utah Scenic Byway 12 in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. This RV park is the place to stay if you plan on exploring the Grand Staircase Monument.

The RV park offers several ways to stay, including tent sites, modern cabins, and RV sites with full hookups. The showers at the park are clean and well-kept. There’s also a coin-operated laundry, free WiFi throughout the park, and two pavilions with a charcoal grill.

The cabins feature air conditioning and heating, a microwave, mini fridge, and the deluxe cabins have half bathrooms: a sink and toilet. Nearby the cabins are the shower facilities.

3. Aspen Grove RV Park

Aspen Grove RV Park opened in May 2019 near Tremonton, Utah. In 2021 this park was awarded Small RV Park of the Year by the National Association of Rv Parks and Campgrounds.

8. Escalante Cabins & RV Park

Escalante Cabins and RV Park opened in the fall of 2016 near the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in Escalante, Utah. This RV Park offers full hookup RV sites, tent sites, cabins, and even vacation home rentals.

The RV sites at the park offer pull-through, pull-in, and back-in accommodations. The cabins include all the amenities of home as well as private bathrooms. There are special rates for weekly and monthly stays.

You can enjoy all the Grand Staircase Monument offers near the park, including hiking, fishing, biking, ATVing, and hunting. You can also check out the area’s dinosaur tracks that were imprinted there millions of years ago during the Jurassic Park era.

9. Devils Garden Campground

Planning an RV trip to Arches National Park in Utah? If you are, you will want to stay at the Devil’s Garden Campground in the middle of Arches National Park. This is the only campground in Arches National Park.

Devil’s Garden features 51 campsites, including 2 group sites and an ADA-compliant site. There are no hookups or showers at the campground, so you will want a self-contained RV if you plan to camp here.

This campground offers vault toilets and drinking water. Each campsite offers a picnic table and a fire ring.  Firewood is not for sale at the campground, but you can purchase a coupon from the Visitor Center for your firewood needs.

Hikers will love Devil’s Garden Campground because of all the hiking trails in the area, including the Broken Arch Trail, accessible from the campground. While staying here, you will enjoy the natural rock formations that surround the campground. 

Arches National Park has over 2,500 unique rock formations, including balancing rocks, arches, fins, and towering spires. This will be a trip you won’t soon forget.

10. North Campground at Bryce Canyon National Park

North Campground is the perfect place to park your RV while visiting Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. North Campground features 50 RV-only sites and 46 tent-only sites. 

North Campground offers a dump station in the summer months, and potable water is available near the dump station. 

Other seasonal features include firewood, ice for sale, and laundry facilities available at the General Store, about a 10-minute walk from the campground. Fire grates are included at each campsite.

The campground is located across the street from the Bryce Canyon visitors center, so you are close to information regarding the National Park and all the sites to see.

No hookups or showers are available at North Campground, so you will want to have a self-contained RV if you want to stay in comfort.

11. Bear Valley RV & Camping Resort

Bear Valley RV & Camping Resort is located in the center of Bryce Canyon near Panguitch, Utah. This campground features 36 RV sites that can accommodate the biggest of big rigs, bunkhouses, and sheep wagon cabins for rent. There are also wide open spaces that can accommodate group campers.

13. Cadillac Ranch RV Park

Escape the overcrowded city of Moab and make plans to stay at the Cadillac Ranch RV Park. This quiet RV Park is located in southeast Utah in the city of Bluff. The small but unique Campground features 14 RV pull-through full hookup sites and five primitive tent sites.

14. Fruita Campground at Capitol Reef National Park

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, you will want to book a stay at Fruita Campground, located right in Capitol Reef Nationa Park. This 71-site campground is the only developed campground in Capitol Reef National Park.

Fruita Campground is located across from the Fremont River in a historic Orchard. This campground is a popular destination for RVers, so reservations are warranted. 

If the Fruita campground is full, they recommend you stay at the public lands surrounding it where dispersed camping is permitted.

Each campsite offers a picnic table, fire pit, and or an above-ground grill. There are no hookups at the campsites, but they offer a dump station, a water fill station, and restrooms with flush toilets and running water.

There are no showers at this campground, so it would be advisable to have a self-contained RV if you want to shower. Generators are allowed but only a specified times.

Things to see at the National Park include rock domes, canyons, cliffs, and natural rock formation bridges, among others. You can also explore Capitol Reef by vehicle, hiking, and horseback riding.

15. Basin Campground at Kodachrome Basin State Park

Kodachrome Basin State Park is a geological wonderland full of breathtaking stone spires that are called sedimentary pipes because they stick out of the ground revealing millions of years of natural geological processes.

Kodachrome Basin State Park offers three campgrounds in different areas of the park, but we will focus on the best one, Basin Campground.

Basin Campground

You will find Basin Campground at the head of Kodachrome Basin. This campground offers RV full hookup sites as well as standard campsites. There is one ADA-accessible campsite.

The Basin Campground features hot showers, flush toilets, and access to most of the hiking trails in the park. Most campsites require a reservation, but there are two full hookups and two standard sites that are first come, first served.

16. Goblin Valley State Park Campground

If you are planning a trip to Utah and want a feeling of seclusion, then booking a stay at the Goblin Valley State Park campgrounds is for you. At this campground, you are surrounded by sandstone goblins. Some have equated Goblin Valley with the planet of Mars because of the sandy red color of the rock formations here.

21. Lizzie and Charlie’s RV and ATV Park

Get your RV ready and hook up your ATVs and head out to Lizzie and Charlie’s RV and ATV Park. This RV park is located in Marysville, Utah, at the heart of the Paiute ATV Trail, the largest ATV trail in the United States.

This RV and ATV park offers 92 RV sites with full hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 100 feet long. The park also features camping cabins, a miners’ cabin, a cottage, a little house, a larger three-bedroom house for rent, and tent sites.

Ten of the newer RV sites are pull-through and are long double pedestals, so they can accommodate the largest of big rigs. The older RV sites have good shade tree coverage, but the newer sites have young trees, so you will want to have a canopy attached to your RV for shade.

The RV sites are spread out among three different sections of the park. 

First Section

The first section offers 30 amp hookups. Central to the RV sites is a shower and bathroom facility, laundry, and pavilion.

Second Section

The second section, or “The Orphan Section,” contains pull-through 30 amp sites and back-in 50 amp sites. This section is within walking distance of the first section, so you can use the amenities in the first section.

Third Section

This section has pull-through and back-in sites with 50 amp electrical hookups that can accommodate big rigs up to 100’ in length.

This park also features a camp store, propane for sale, and direct access to the Paiute ATV Trail straight from the campground. If you don’t have an ATV or UTV or don’t want to drag them along on your vacation, you can rent one at the separate business that they own on-site called Piute ATV/UTV Rentals.

Before heading out on an ATV or UTV, Utah has a new law on the books that requires OHV riders in Utah to complete an educational course online before they can rent or operate any off-road vehicles in Utah.

There is a second safety course that youths under 18 must take before operating an OHV that costs $35. The courses can be found at www.ohv.utah.gov.

22. J & J RV Park

J&J RV Park is located in Kanab, Utah. Staying at this RV park, you will enjoy amenities that make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The park offers large full hookup RV sites that can accommodate almost any size RV, big or small. They have hot showers, extra wide pull-through and back-in sites, modern laundry facilities, free WiFi, and 30/50 amp electrical hookups.

Other features at the park include fire bowls that can be picked up at the park office, a dog park, firewood for sale, an RV water fill, and an RV water dump.

J&J RV Park is located right on the edge of Kanab, so you are within walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants, shopping, souvenirs, and more.

23. Bridger Bay Campground at Antelope Island State Park

Antelope Island State Park offers several campgrounds, but we will focus on the best one, Bridger Bay Campground.

Bridger Bay Campground is located on Antelope Island, the largest island in the Great Salt Lakes. This campground features both pull-through and back-in RV sites with partial hookups. It also has primitive tent camping sites.

The campground also offers a dump station and can accommodate big rigs up to 60’ in length. Other features include showers, restrooms, fire rings, picnic tables, and pets are welcome.

There is plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities on the Island, including buffalo herds, antelope, big horn sheep, mule deer, and migratory birds.

Fun things to do at Antelope Island State Park include hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. You can also visit the historic Fielding Gar Ranch.

24. Sun Outdoors Salt Lake City

Previously known as Pony Express RV Resort Sun Outdoor Salt Lake City is a premier RV resort near Salt Lake City, Utah. Its spacious RV sites can accommodate rigs up to 35’ in length and have ample room for slideouts.

25. WillowWind RV Park

If you are ready to unwind, take a trip to WillowWind RV Park in Hurricane, Utah. It’s just a short drive from Zion National Park and Sand Hollow Reservoir State Park in southern Utah’s beautiful red rock country.

26. Wonderland RV Park

Wonderland RV Park has been serving campers who visit Capitol Reef National Park since 1934. This RV park is only three miles from Capitol Reef at the intersections of Scenic Byway 24 and Highway 12.

The park features full hookup RV sites that can accommodate big rigs. They also have rental cabins and shaded tent camping sites. Wonderland also offers picnic tables, laundry facilities, lawn games, nearby fishing, showers, free WiFi, and much more.

27. Thousand Lakes RV Park

Getting away from the crowds in Utah is easy just book a stay at the Thousand Lakes RV Park. This park is located off the beaten path in Southern Utah but is still close to the many great National Parks and tourist destinations in southern Utah.

This RV Park features full hookup RV sites with pull-through sites that can accommodate RVs up to 65’ in length. They also offer shaded tent sites as well as deluxe rental cabins.

If you want to do some back road country driving, you can rent a jeep from them and enjoy the beautiful natural wonder of the red rock country.

Other features at the park include a basketball court, a pavilion where they will cook you up some delicious BBQ, a swimming pool, a playground, picnic tables, and breathtaking views of the Red Rock Mountains from every campsite.

28. Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping Area

The last RV campground on our list is Lone Beach Primitive Camping Area. This remote campground is located in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Here you will be camping on a sandy beach or among the dunes.

Lone Rock Beach is a popular campground because it’s one of the only areas that let you park your RV on the beach of Lake Powell. Reservations are not required, so it’s a first come, first serve campground.

The fee to park here is only $14 per night per vehicle. There are no designated campsites, so there are no hookups. It’s recommended that you have a self-contained RV if you camp here.

Campground features included six vault toilets, four flush toilets, and one wheelchair-accessible comfort station. There’s also a dump station, cold outdoor shower, and potable water on a seasonal basis.

This primitive campground is open year-round, and open fires are permitted but must be contained in a four-foot square area.

Fun things to do at Long Beach Campground include ATVing, swimming, water sports, boating, and more. Near Lone Rock Beach, you can take a Horsebend Slot Canyon Tour, Kayaking and paddleboarding on Lake Powell, the Antelope Canyon Tours, or a Grand Canyon helicopter ride.
